Chromium browser can clean-up after malware infections
Even the most careful internet user may find himself/herself on a questionable site that loads the browser with all kinds of "wonderful gifts" like toolbars, new search engines, extensions and the like. Normally recovering from something like this is painful and time consuming. A crafty and detail oriented individual, Francois Beaufort, discovered a new feature in Chromium called reset profile which resets everything back to factory defaults: homepage search engine cookies and disables the extensions Why is this interesting? Because cool new features often work their way from Chromium back to Google official Chrome browser.

Government can't intercept Apple's iMessage
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Apple is very secretive about how its technologies are designed. Case in point, we all knew iMessage had some type of encryption Now we learn that the security is so well designed that even the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) isn’t able to intercept iMessages [according to CNET at least]. This is great news for privacy advocates but a worry for law enforcement.

You are then asked to supply a telephone number where an authentication code will be sent when you login from an “untrusted computer or device”. A code then arrived that you have to enter when Google login detects something strange.

CWTA launches their Protect your data campaign
The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and the major Canadian carriers are joining forces to stop mobile device theft in Canada. By the end of September 2013, they will implement a new device verification process to ensure the device being activated hasn’t been declared lost or stolen. The purpose is to eliminate the secondary market for stolen devices making theft less attractive. In preparation of this initiative, the CWTA has launched a special protectyourdata website to help consummers.
